Mask
The mask series is comprised of photographs I composed using only two screen-mesh masks, which were constructed and painted at the turn of the early 1900’s and used in French pantomime. I have taken these masks and photographed them with a variety of props in different lighting conditions exploreing a variety of psychological, mythological, religious, and artistic themes, using the “mask” and its connotations as a central focus. The photographs themselves have not been manipulated, double exposed, or artificially enhanced.
